As my husband and I are new to the state, we have enjoyed exploring the Central VA area. The landscape is just so different then where we came from in Florida. We fell in love with the surrounding mountains and lucked out to buy a home that has a wonderful view of the Peaks of Otter and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Thus far we have enjoyed visiting the Peaks of Otter Winery where we had a chance to “kiss the devil”. This is an especially spicy wine which I was told by the pleasant owner has been known to sweat a feverish cold right out of your body.

Another favorite exploration of mine was the ride during the fall along the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central VA. The colors of the leaves were so amazing. During the fall is a great time to look across the “mountains majesties” and appreciate all that the loving Lord has blessed this nation with. With the humidity low in the fall you can see out a vast distance.

It seems that everywhere we go the people of this area become nicer and nicer. I guess that’s just one of the fine attributes of a southern state. Coming up on our one-year anniversary of moving to Bedford County, VA we look forward to exploring more local places. As I experience more this area has to over I will be passing the word along of my findings.
