Win Dinnerware – Announcing our first Contest!
Hello Everyone,
My name is Jim Leavitt, and I’m the owner of Emerson Creek Pottery. We’ve been making our handcrafted dinnerware for over 30 years now, but this year is going to be a special one for us, because we’ve just launched our blog. I’m looking forward to getting to know you all better in the coming months, and am eager to hear your suggestions. I’m starting our blog off with a bang here by announcing our very first contest: Your Dream Dinner Party with Emerson Creek Pottery!
Basically, you write us an essay of 500 words or less about how you’d give a lovely dinner party using our wares, and we’ll be posting all the entries on our website. Everyone who enters will receive a coupon worth $5.00 off and purchase of $20.00 or more at Emerson Creek Pottery. The winner will receive:
Our Iris Dinnerware Setting for 4!
The contest ends on April 15th, 2007, so get those entries in as soon as you can. I’m really looking forward to reading about your dream dinner party. Feel free to post any questions about this contest here on the blog. Your contributions matter to us.
Jim

I’d like to give a party featuring your dinnerware because in the past, I’ve been left to do nothing but outdoor entertaining. The reason for this is because I don’t have a significant set of dinnerware worthy of hosting a party.
I raised a family of boys. I never owned a set of china because I knew it would broken eventually, and when out dated, not easily replaced. My only real set of dishes I owned was an 8 piece set of stoneware in brown that was given to me by my mother at a bridal shower. Now, chipped and worn, it is only sufficient to serve the immediate family along with a few other unmatched serving bowls as needed for food at serving time.
NOW, the boys are grown, it is just my husband and I, and we are learning that empty nester’s get live life as they wish! We are often invited to friends homes with lavish dinner settings, cloth napkins and luxurious table scape’s. I would love to be able to entertain in this style!
Having a complete set of Emerson Creek Pottery would not only allow me the opportunity to begin our new life with friends, but afford me a luxury living in an all male home never permitted in the past.
Hey Jim!
I have added “Your Dream Dinner Party with Emerson Creek Pottery” to my blog, http://www.roanokeshopper.typepad.com. Hopefully folks will access my blog and drive on over to your site or visa versa!
The giveaway is a great way to kick off your blog! Congratulations!
A dinner party you say! Well, you mean by myself without help??? I am filled with alarm and despondency. What could help me through this weary experience…what could help ME enjoy my own party! WELL, my EMERSON CREEK POTTERY would!
Yes, you have guessed it. Jim’s lovely Emerson Creek dinnerware would be top on my list to inspire ME! They use rich colors, clean lines and the inspiration is there! It won’t be long before my theme is in place, my main course ready and just waiting for my guests to sit down at my lovely table!
Emerson Creek dinnerware would allow me to concentrate on other things like cooling the wine and lighting the candles. The meal…well what does it really matter what I serve when good friends come to gather? And this time served over Emerson Creek pottery. I can just hear the ooohs and aaahs!
Thank you Emerson Creek!

I love the few irises that I have and your dinnerware set would reflect that joy year round! The set is lovely and the irises depicted are my favorite colors. My dream dinner party is actually a simple solution – a beautiful table arrangement that is welcoming and warm, great food simply prepared, and a couple of wonderful friends. Now if we could coordinate time THAT would be the key.
In today’s busy lives, the ambiance and setting truly relate to the ability to relax and enjoy. Your beautiful pottery would enhance that captured moment.
Thanks for the opportunity!

I would like to give a dinner party with Emerson Creek pottery because the designs on the pottery would fit beautifully into any dinner party. I am an experienced home cook and I think that this handcrafted pottery would beautifully showcase my food and, besides taste, presentation is a big part of any successful dinner party. Besides the dinnerware, I noticed that there are many other accents that could complement the dinner such as the vases and candle holders and I think the combined effect of the pottery would make a great impression on my guests.
